It has been reported that vast deposit of deuterium is found in the ocean floor of the Philippine deep near Siargao island, Surigao del Norte. If this is true, why not exploit and harnessed the same to solve the global oil crisis.

  1. Deuterium is hydrogen with an extra neutron it the nucleus.  Pure deuterium is never encountered in nature, for the same reason pure hydrogen (protium, the more common form of hydrogen)  is not encountered in nature: it is too reactive.

Deuterium is found in water molecules, which is then called heavy water. Heavy water is distributed homogenously across all ocean, there is no such "deposits" anywhere.

But even if there was, then what?  What does one do with the deuterium extracted from weavy water?

Burn it, and get back a fraction of the energy required to extract if through electrolysis?

Or put it in a nuclear fusion reactor we have not gotten yet?

I do not know where you take your information from, but whatever your source is, keep away from it, it is wrongful and misleading.

  2. Not sure about the deposit but the cost of such project would not be cost effective versus profit to make it viable.  Fast interlocking trains will be a big step and the use of ethanol will be another. Soon and very soon all the rich Arabs will have nothing but sand in the middle east and they will have to migrate to the greenlands of the world.  If the world goes nuke we will eventually die from radition posioning anyway so just enjoy today and live long.
