I think Justin Morneau could be. he has 87 RBIs and he is towards the top of the league in batting average. Carlos Quentin is also having a great season for chicago. Also, milton bradley is quietly having a great season. who do you think would be MVP if Josh hamilton wasnt having a good season?

  1. It won't be Josh Hamilton anyway. Its going to be somebody else on the same team. It will be Ian Kinsler.

    Out of the American League

    2nd in BA- .321

    2nd in Doubles- 38

    1st in Runs - 92 (Leading by 15!!)

    1st in hits- 148

    T7 in SB- 25

    14 homeruns

    Compared to Quentin-

    .281 BA

    5 SB

    111 hits

    28 hrs

    20 doubles

    Kinsler is WAY better

  2. I really don't like it when they give it to a guy who's team didn't make the playoffs. He can't be to valuble if they didn't. I have to say Quentin if the Sox make it but Morneau could possibly with all his two out clutch RBI's.

  3. Justin Morneau again!!!

  4. Franky Rodriguez of the Angels

  5. I think I would go with Carlos Quentin

  6. Kevin Youkilis

  7. Jermaine Dye or Carlos Quentin

  8. I would first have to say Quentin( if not hamilton, but surely Hamilton should get it). This guy has been awesome this season and a total surprise, and if not for him, the over rated White Sox wouldnt even be contending.  Also, you have to think about Saunders, K-Rod, Morneau, and of course A-rod.  I say a-Rod cause when he was out Yanks were struggling big time. he comes back into line up and they start their run.

  9. Kinsler!!!

i've been saying since the start that he's going to be making some noise this year..

still under the radar but he's on FIRE man!!

so you're saying Hamilton will automatically get the mvp? hmm interesting hehe

  10. Milton Bradley

  11. carlos quentin. just look what this young gun has done. 27 hr's, decent ba.

Josh hamilton needs to have an equally successful  second half to even be considered.

  12. ichiro

  13. One of the things the voters consider is the success of the team.  The Rangers aren't going to make the post season so for Hamilton (or Bradley and Kinsler for that matter) to be the MVP they have to have a MONSTER season or there needs to be no other viable candidates.  That's not the case so I don't think Hamilton, Bradley or Kinsler will be the MVP.

    The leading candidates are:

Carlos Quentin (24 HR, 84 RBI, .281 BA)

Jermaine Dye (26 HR, 68 RBI, .308 BA)

Evan Longoria (21 HR, 67 RBI, .280 BA)

Kevin Youkalis (20 HR, 74 RBI, .313 BA)

Alex Rodriguez (24 HR, 66 RBI, .325 BA)

Justin Morneau (18 HR, 87 RBI, .315 BA)

I think it will be on of the six names above, depending on how they do the 2nd half and how their team does.  Right now I'd give the edge to Quentin.
