  1. 1. Being NASCAR's poster boy and Dale Sr's son. Also for being a pretty good racer.

    2. They'd find someone that Jr. is buddies with. NASCAR fans don't stop watching just because their favorite driver retires.

    3. I'd be indifferent, albeit shocked.

  2. I'd be sad..but one thing for sure, he won't have to worry about money..I'd start following Jeffrey Earnhardt.. and cheer for Jimmie J & the rest of the guys at Hms. He would be remembered as the son of the Great Dale Sr.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  3. 1. He would be remembered unrealistically as being one of the greats of the sport. Realistically, he would be remembered for being Dale Earnhardt's son, without as much talent, and inherited that fan base. He would probably also get a bad rep for the fans of his that throw beer on the track, even though not all do, it's still bad for the sport.

*And for the ones that say it's mostly not his fans, well how many other drivers have had to tell their fans to quit throwing things onto the track. A lot of Jr. fans give NASCAR a bad name when they do this stuff.

    2. I don't know but I bet they would be quick to jump off the Hendrick bandwagon. They would probably pull for a DEI driver. Some might quit watching.

    3. I could care less...I just wish most of his fans would look at him realistically instead of thinking he is as great as the media makes him out to be. He is still not winning with the best equipment. Without him, the ratings would probably go down but if his name was Dale Smith and he retired it wouldn't matter.

  4. 1. The most popular driver ever.

    2. I imagine Martin Truex Jr or Tony Stewart

    3. I would be disappointed and sad for my Jr friends.

  5. 1 The son of Dale Sr.

2 Tony Stewart or Joey Lagano

    3 I could care less

  6. 1.  Having a huge, albeit unrealistic, fan base.

    2.  Hard to say.  Definitely not Rowdy, maybe one of Jr's up     and coming Nationwide drivers.

    3.  I would be a little sad, he's a good guy.

  7. 1.not winning

    2. JR fans will put the wheels back on they houses

    3. who cares..?

  8. fan base

    sadler

    none of the above

  9. 1-Being the son of Dale Earnhardt the 1st.(same thing he's remembered for now)

2-They wouldn't quit watching, they'd all pick different drivers, so that's a hard one to answer, I don't think they'd all just jump onto one driver.

3-Me personally, I'd be oblivious, wouldn't matter to me if he stays or goes.

  10. 1. without dwelling on his dad, he will be remembered for: winning the all-star race as a rookie (the first to do so) in 2000 (as well as the appearance in victory lane with dale sr.); for winning the daytona race in july, 2001; for winning the 2004 daytona 500; for his two busch series titles; his "mastery" and "dominance" of restrictor-plate racing, at least for a few years there; and of course, for his "entanglement" with busch at richmond this year.  more than just racing, he will be remembered for his love of the sport and its history, his switch from DEI to HMS, his many "most popular driver" awards, and for creating JR Motorsports.  also, he will also be remembered for how he carried himself on and off the track - his radio communication and his post-race interview at richmond were true shows of some serious class...

    2. i think many fans would cheer for one of his JR Motorsports drivers - keselowski or landon cassill, mayhaps. if not them, then probably for tony stewart or martin truex jr. - good friends of his. most true nascar fans won't quit watching, just like they didn't when dale sr. passed on. if another earnhardt manages to step up to the cup series, they might cheer for him. or for whomever is in the #8 or #88, so the won't have to change tattoos again ;-).  actually, most would probably cheer for whomever junior said to cheer for ;-)

    3. if he wanted to retire, i'd be happy for him, but sad to see another talented driver - another serious competitor - get out of his car... like him or not, he's become an icon - a cultural phenomenon with a fan base that's second to none. i'd also miss his sense of humor.

  11. 1) He has his own identity, he'd be remembered as Dale Earnhardt Jr.

    2) Probably Tony Stewart once he makes the transition back to Chevrolet

    3) I'd be sad to see him go so soon.

  12. 1. He'd be known as a Daytona 500 winner most of all.

    2. Jr. fans would turn to Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne to cheer for

    3. I'd be mad

  13. 1- "BUD"

      2- The pace car

    3- Would not bother me.

  14. 1. Earnhardt Sr. son

    2. Maybe Tony Stewart

    3. Never been one of his fans, wouldn't matter at all.

  15. racing would go to the crapper

  16. 1.  #18's # 1 Fan hit the nail on the head.  Awesome anwser.

    2.  I would pull for Harvick and Bowyer.

    3.  I'd be OK with it.  Although I love the sport still, a lot of my passion died in turn 4 at Daytona in Feb of 2001.

  17. 1 Not Winning

    2 Matty Kenseth

    3 Happy
