If kids and family are off limits, why are the republicans forcing them into the spot light?

Why was it necessary to fly Levi out to the convention and meet McCain in front of the world's press?

Was it for his benefit or the benefit of the party?

  1. Ok as damage-control props. Ok to humiliate them by using them as part of their PR machine by putting them in the glare of spotlights in front of an international media. Hypocritical and pathetically desperate.

  2. the republicans are just self destructing.......I love it!

  3. They can't talk about issues so they put the bait out and then say that they are being attacked.  Just dishonorable tactics.  It is so sad.

  4. I guess "the media" forced them to all stand on the tarmac like a line of 20 goofballs. They want the photo ops to show all of the "love" and family for their propaganda, but don't SAY anything. "Just let us get our pictures." Silly season...

  5. I think the Palins would have been happy to keep their family problems private.  However their hand was forced by the liberal media and the constant slander from their opponents.

  6. CNN is forcing them into the spotlight by acting like the National Enquirer.

  7. Whats more, why did S**t Romney attack Obama's wife.

  8. Obama had his two daughters on stage at the convention.  Michelle constantly spoke about them in her speech.

What you probably really mean is why is the liberal media forcing them into the spotlight by continuosly speaking about Palin's daughter and questioning Palin's ability to balance a career and a family.

  9. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Who was the party who brought up Palin's daughter? Who is that party who doesn't think a mother of 5 should be vice president? Now, I didn't hear anything about Hillary not being able to lead. She has kids by the way!

  10. First off all it was not the Rep party who forced them in to the "lime light", but the dirt hungry media.

  11. I never though of that, but you are right. They do want lots of photo opportunities, but no questions about whether the family is as good as it looks.

But you can have it both ways. I say leave the little girl alone. If she starts making speeches or giving interviews we have to talk about her. Let's hope Mom does not allow that.

  12. Good question.  So is mine!!

  13. They aren't being forced to do anything. Levi was coming out anyway. Wouldn't you if you had an opportunity to be at a convention like this?

I think that the best way to get over so many negative ideas about them is to meet them all. For the past few days we've been slinging mud at a person we've never met. Very unfair way to play.

  14. Aren't you confusing Reps and Dems? That cinches it that you must be a Democrat yourself.

  15. Good question. McCain even has his daughter blogging about the campaign trail and on the blog they had pictures of the youngest Palin daughter this week. Having the boy thrown into the middle of the media circle just shows poor judgment in my opinion. No excuse to do that to the boy. But they do have a right to have their own kids there to celebrate the occasion, that is common.

  16. Benefit of the party.

  17. If they would have been doing anything for the kid's benefit, they would have shipped all of them back to Alaska.  I strongly suspect there was some prompting there.  What else would make an 18 year old boy show up at the RNC?   I have to imagine, he'd prefer to be almost anywhere else.

  18. The Republicans didn't..the liberal media and the democrats did!

  19. EXACTLY!  They want people to focus on the fact that Palin is "just a hockey mom" but then, when not so perfect things start being reported about her family, we are not supposed to care about that.  Give me a break!  I really feel that anyone with a four month old special needs baby  (man or woman) should not take on a job that will require them to be away for weeks at a time.  I think the religious right -- if they really examine Palin - will see that she's not really living life as a Christian would.  She's not "putting family first"!  People keep using her anti-abortion stance as something that will make her a good VP.  The abortion issue is a trojan horse that the Republicans are using to fool not so smart Christians who want to think they are electing someone who will bring Christian morals into the White House.  It's all an illusion.

  20. I loved it!!

    McCain/ Palin  08'

  21. Obama did the same thing as does every other poltician. All they did was bring them on stage for the family photo opp. That doesnt forgive the media from dragging her daughter thru the gutter. Kids should be off limits. That is not the case and never will be but that doesn't make it right. It was wrong when they did it to Chelsea and the Bush kids and it is wrong now. It is disgusting what they are trying to do to Palin and her family.

  22. The benefit of the party, no doubt at all.  "Family values" and all.

  23. Well this is the big historical election, history in the making they keep talking about.  He is our "first baby's daddy?" I don't think we have ever had a baby's daddy in the white house before.  He's cute too.

  24. They are hypocrites.

  25. I would deck Levi right in front of everyone.

  26. When they go into the spotlight so do their children.  You can usually tell allot about a person on how they raised their children or how they treat their spouse.
