  1. NO. NO. NO. NO.

I'm 16, very responsible. took a great driver's ed course, and I'm a horrible driver.

13 year olds behind the wheel would lead to catastrophe.

Driving isn't as simple as it looks.

  2. h**l no thats way to young

  3. NO!

I'm 21 this month, learning to drive now. I had to grow up and not have a childhood and therefore have always been sensible, level headed and responsible. Even so, DRIVING IS NOT SIMPLE.

It's not so much driving itself but other drivers. My instructor told me to drive as if every other drive is an idiot. You'd be surpirsed how many of them really are!

  4. h**l no

  5. There's a huge difference between riding a dirt bike or quad on back roads and driving a motor vehicle on public roads with other drivers. Personally, I believe you should be 18 before you can drive, but 13, 14, and 15 year olds lack the attention to detail and mature judgment necessary to co-exist with other drivers on public roads.

  6. i say yes becuzz i wanna drive!!! ive test drived b4... but no cuz we would fall asleep or get bored and not pay attention

  7. No--they'd be too short.

And they'll NEVER be responsible enough!

  8. if you live in a farming community you could drive a tractor or the farm vehicles on private land.

the problem comes "if" you get in an accident.

your parents could be sued because your insurance would not cover an under age driver.

they have young girl that drives a dragster on the race track but she cannot drive a car on the road yet.

when i was 15 you could get your Lic but now they require you be at least 16 to get your permit and you must take drivers ed to get your lic.

you might be a capable of driving but according to the current laws your not legal till your 16.

  9. Its a lawsuit waiting to happen. Even if a responsible 13 year-old may be a better driver than 18-21 year olds, the average 13 y-o will be looking to get their license too, even if they aren't ready.

Interestingly enough, I have been flying airplanes by myself since I was 15. I know people who have flown airplanes solo since they were 14. So people can fly planes solo before they can drive a car...

Its never been a matter of skill, its not a matter of responsibility, its a matter of "what if something happened"? Would a 13 y-o be able to file a police report, or call up their insurance company to file a claim, or enter a court and answer to a drinking and driving charge?

  10. I think 13 year olds who are very responsible and who know and understnd the rules of driving should be able to drive. I am a 13 year old (almost 14) and i understand driving fully. I think 13 year olds should have the right to at least get a permit.
