  1. It depends on how fast it is refreshing compared to how much they pump.  In the Sahara desert, it would be non renewable.  In Orange County, Ca, it is renewable because they pump water into the aquifer and it rains some.


  2. no, because an aquifer is ground water.  and through the water cycle, after percipitation water goes to the ground and goes back to the aquifer.

  3. Only if the water being pumped out is being treated after being used and then pumped back into the aquifer would it be considered as "renewable" water. However, if the recharge rate of the aquifer is greater than the rate it is being pumped out, then there shouldn't be any immediate harm in using the water and letting it go out by overland routes.
