If liberals think Fox news is so bias, then why is Fox News the #1 news show on Cable for six years in a row?

I guess it depends on who is saying that Fox is biased. Let's see....NBC, CBS and ABC. Hmmm, no one else? Remember that Fox is the new kid on the block besides CNN. CNN thinks like the major networks, so that leaves Fox to whine about because their obvious pandering, and pap they call news stories have begun to cause them to lose viewers. Maybe if they practiced more journalism skills, they'd have more interesting programs. Maybe if they stopped listening to Hollywood, they'd understand that their viewpoints do not reflect the American majority.

Naw, they'll jusy think of more stories to make up.

For the very reason that it is biased.  As the unofficial propaganda arm of the Republican Party, Fox News has a virtual monopoly and a large conservative viewer base.  For those who prefer their news less slanted, there are far more choices.

The reason why is because the major networks' news departments are liberal. When ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC all lean left, then any news outlet that leans right will pick up the unmet demand. The fact that FOX is the only network that leans right means that they, by default, will get most or all of those conservative viewers out there. In a 50/50 country, that a whole lotta viewers.

I'm a conservative and I'll agree it is someone slanted toward the right, however on all their shows they bring on a panel of liberals to show the other point. Look at Hannity and Combs, yes it's Hannitys show but they put Combs in there to offer the other side. Other networks are so far left it's not even funny and they have no conservative voice at all. MSNBC, CNN, they are all jokes and it shows because they are like 27 in the ratings and fox is number one.

Because all the conservatives have been brainwashed into believing the 'mainstream' media is corrupted by liberalism and rely on Fox News for impartial news.  Liberals and independents have more options to choose from.  Conservatives only watch Fox.

Popularity doesn't mean anything. You know Gore won the popular vote in 2000. Does that mean he was more qualified? According to your logic it does.

i saw this weeks neilson ratings has cnn 22nd and msnbc 30th.lol.the tomato channel had placed 29th!.how bad is that.fox was 6th .this was all of cable ratings.

Because there are a lot of "right wing nut jobs" in the country.

But if you ask anyone if Fox news, is conservative or liberal, what are they going to say?   Sure they are biased.

I haven't watched them in a long time, but a couple of years ago, they were very  biased.

It is blatantly biased, and I don't see what ratings have to do with that. If you can't admit its slanted to the right...

Its #1 for the same reason rush limbaugh is a multi, multi millionaire. The conservative movement likes its positions, beliefs, reinforced. That's why people watch. This is why there is so much more of a market for all kinds of conservative commentators, even though polling consistently indicates the country is split down the middle.

Apparently conservatives, many at least, like to watch and listen to programming that reinforces their world view. More than liberals it seems, at least economically.
