If life begins at conception does that not make BC pills murder? Is that why Palin has 5 kids?

Birth control pills prevent the implantation in the womb of a viable fertilized egg. That is abortion.

  1. I heard she does not believe in any form of birth control. I haven't seen any hard evidence to back that up.

Someone tries to tell me I cannot take birth control I really WILL move to Canada. That would just be flippin ridiculous.

  2. but she's cute

  3. The hormonal birth control pill was first marketed in the United States in the 1960s, and it had a profound impact on the world. Birth control pills allow women to engage in sexual activity at any time during their menstrual cycle without fear of pregnancy, and essentially work by tricking the woman's body into thinking that it is already pregnant with timed doses of estrogen. In addition to estrogen, birth control pills contain progesterone, another female hormone which has an influence on the reproductive system. When taken as directed, most birth control pills are over 90% effective.

The origins of birth control pills can be found in experiments on rabbits in the 1930s, when researchers discovered that high doses of progesterone prevented ovulation, meaning that no eggs would be present in the uterus to be fertilized by sperm. In the 1940s, scientists successfully synthesized both estrogen and progesterone, opening the way to the birth control pill, which was developed and tested in the 1950s. In 1960, the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of the pill for American women, and human sexuality and family planning have not been the same since.

The hormones in birth control pills combine to prevent the body from releasing an egg. Should an egg be released, the progesterone makes it difficult for the egg to travel down the fallopian tube, and also alters the uterine lining to prevent implantation in the unlikely event of fertilization. In addition, progesterone thickens cervical mucus, so that sperm have difficulty navigating. The combination of estrogen and progesterone make pregnancy a challenge, ALTHOUGH IT CAN HAPPEN.

  4. certainly not birth control pills...they prevent conception.

    RU-486  the abortion pill?

If you believe abortion is murder...then yes.

  5. Conception begins when you fertilize the egg. If the egg can't be fertilized, then how is that murder?

I believe in choice...freedom of choice in having s*x! When you make that choice, then you have to cope with having a child. That's the choice. The s*x part...not the abortion. That is murder. You had a choice, and you made it when you jumped in the sack with another person. Am I right? Those are my beliefs anyway...

  6. Yes, the pill kills.

Hormonal birth control can and does abort babies, and women who are on that type of birth control don't even know it's happened.

ADDED: Interesting how many people falsely believe the pill prevents conception. Yet I know of 4 children conceived while their mother was on birth control pills. That's just in my little world, I'm sure there are many more. How can this happen if the pill "prevents" conception? Obviously it doesn't. How many more children are conceived but unable to implant in the uterus due to the undesirable conditions?

  7. What the h**l?  You can't murder someone who hasn't even been created.  This is the most retarded question I've seen yet.

  8. Not it is not idiot.Life begins when the baby implants and starts producing Human growth Hormones also known as HGH.Some people choice to be on BC because they need to relate their cycle and some do because they don't want children at this point in time or never. It is a insult to me that you would post a stupid question like this being as it has now been 11 mths since I lost a pregnancy but you are heartless so why do you care

  9. Recently, the Bush administration proposed changing the description of abortion to include birth control pills and IUD's for the very reason you stated; they prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg. It's worth noting that Gov.Palin is a member of "Feminists for Life", an organization with members that openly support outlawing all "non-abortifacient contraception" (anything that stops implantation of the fertilized egg). Both Palin and McCain support overturning Roe v Wade. However, Palin should be asked whether she also supports legislation banning "non-abortifacient contraception".

  10. An unfertilized egg is not life.  Only a fertilized egg.  She never said that she is working to overturn Roe V Wade, so why is that only deomcrats are bringing it up?  Besides she can't, only the Supreme Court can and they haven't and won't.   Why is it a crime for her to have 5 children?  What happened to equal rights?  She has to stay home and raise the children?  Why can't her husband be the caregiver?  I thought you lefties were all about equality.

To Sister Mary:  She granted same s*x couples benefits.

  11. Masturbation is murder.

  12. "life begins at conception" is one of the dumbest quotes people use nowadays. Are reproductive cells not considered life? Wow despite the ignorance of some of these answers, I could tell you right now that as a biology major, cells are considered living. By the way, I'm making an argument against the quote, not I'm pro-life.

  13. Why try to force yours on everyone else?

You have your belief and she has hers. No one knows who is right so get over yourself.

  14. Most BC I know of prevent ovulation at all.  No egg to fertilize, no problem.

  15. Palin has five kids because she "chose" to have them.

Yet, she wants to take away women's right to choose if they don't make the same choice as she.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't need abortion clinics.  But this isn't a perfect world and no woman should be forced to carry a baby that was conceived by force.

  16. I'm not Catholic so I don't believe life begins at conception.

  17. I disagree. You're making the mistake of assuming that forcing opinions on others is in some way hypocritical to the idea of following your own beliefs. There is no contradiction there. She may try. I don't care, she won't succeed, but that has nothing to do with her effectiveness at energizing the Republican Social Conservative base and getting people to vote for McCain. Which is her one and only real purpose. So go Palin.

  18. name a president or vice president who ever tried to force their beliefs concerning abortion on you. You know why you can't name one? Because no president or vice president has ever tried to do so. The law is the law, whether we like it or not, and the law is abortion is legal. It is up to Congress to write laws or rescind laws, not the president or vice president. Unless of course you want a liberal agenda item forced down people's throat, then the libs use activist judges to circumvent the law making process, but I'm sure you already knew that

  19. When Palin vetoed the Bill that would ban g**s from state benefits, did she put country before God and her convictions?

    inquiring minds want an answer....

    o_O

  20. First of all, there are other methods of contraception besides the pill.  Secondly, some BC pills prevent ovulation, so there would be no chance of egg meeting sperm.  But then there are pills that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching itself to the uterus.  These are considered "abortion" for some people.  There are also pills that prevent ovulation and prevent implantation.

I think Palin has 5 kids because she wanted a lot of kids.  It's mostly Catholics who are against contraception of any kind, and I don't think Palin is Catholic.  Even if she is against all contraception, I seriously doubt she would make the pill illegal.

  21. ummmmm - the BC pill stops an egg from being released....so the answer is no, you silly person.

Edit - you're talking about Emergency Pill, not BC - get it right, stupid man.

  22. Obviously, you don't know how BC pills work. They prevent fertilization.

The morning after pill is not a BC pill, it's an abortion pill.

  23. The BC pill prevents conception. Therefore no life is made.  Now the abortion pills that prevent implantation, are what they say they are, abortion.  I think she had 5 kids because she wanted a large family. She wouldn't be against BC pills, however being against the abortion pill is very plausible.  The thing is if people would take responsibility for themselves and there actions, neither the abortion pill or abortions would be needed.  But alot of people don't or won't be responsible, they want to rely on the government to supply them with food and housing and health care, etc... If they would get a job and work to support themselves we wouldn't have a need for all these social programs that require us working stiffs to pay so much in taxes.
