  1. Abortion is not a lightly decision...

Birth control is there to prevent unwanted pregnancies because unwanted pregnancies can lead to abortions.

  2. Boy we sure are lucky Hitler and Stalin and Mao Tse Tung and Ho Chi Minh and Saddam Hussein weren't aborted.  Whew!

  3. What -- you think playing games with semantics proves anything?  They could just as easily call it "contraception".

    And they do.

  4. Birth control prevents conception, and therefore prevents an unwanted pregnancy, which could lead to an abortion if the woman chose to have one. I thought this was common knowledge?

  5. To prevent abortions. To help women with menstrual cycle issues. Birth control pills aren't just about preventing an unwanted pregnancy. To give women more control over their lives. This is very much a women's health issue. The government has no business being involved.

  6. An excuse to get an abortion.

  7. because conception leads to life but it doesn't begin life.

there are a lot of things that have to happen to the fetus before it can "live" sperm + egg does not a life make. but it begins the process.

i do not want the process to begin without choosing for it to. sorry.

BUT i am also an exception to the rule. see i have this terrible thing called endometriosis. if i do not keep myself from bleeding every month my body will build up scar tissue from the blood and i will not be able to have a baby. so to avoid NOT being able to conceive i am given BC to keep me from having a period. this is the only option i have other then having my tubes tied. that and i also want to prevent having a hysterectomy which both my mother and her sister have had to have because of the endometriosis.

as i do want children and don't want infertility i am doing what i can to preserve my right to have children. that is why *I* take BC mainly - if i could stop without losing the option to conceive or without being in insane pain from my ovaries filling up with blood i would stop taking the BC.

  8. I don't get the logic of your question. Birth control eliminates unwanted pregnancy whether you are pro-choice or not. Without birth control the world would have so many people we couldn't sustain ourselves. That would lead to a very poor quality of life.

  9. What does birth control have to do with the actual time that life begins?  Birth control is used to prevent the process from starting.  Life begins at conception or sometime thereafter depending on personal views.

  10. because they dont want to get pregnant? are you retarded?

  11. To say that life, in its most basic definition, does not begin at conception, is plain ludicrous.  Of course it does.  Semantics?  That's EXACTLY what pro-abortion rights advocates do every day.  They know that life begins at conception.  Its a ridiculously obvious answer.  They won't say that, of course, because that makes an abortion an act of ending a life.  I won't say murder, because I don't think those that support or get abortions are of the murdering mindset.

    BOTTOM LINE:

Pro-choice advocates simply do not think an unborn child's life is as valuable as a pregnant woman's right to choose whether or not that unborn child will live or die.
