I mean I know it's a zygote etc but does it count as a part of it's mothers body until it is born? Even though it is a separate entity and has different gene combination to it's mother. If it does count as a part of the mothers body why do some women's body reject it?

  1. It is most definitely a human life at the moment of contraception.

You cannot eat anything special that turns you from a non-human into a human, and therefore the growing fetus cannot take anything in through the umbilical cord that will change it from non-human to human. therefore, if it's born human, it must start out human, no?

It has its own DNA, its own heartbeat, its own blood type. Therefore, it's alive.

As for a woman's body rejecting the fetus, that's something scientists are still unsure of. That is a complicated issue. There are a wide variety of reasons. It may be a mismatch in the blood type. I remember learning in my high school biology class that if a woman has a negative rH factor in her blood and the fetus has a positive rH factor, then the woman's antibodies will attack the fetus.

It may also be that a woman's HCG isn't high enough for some reason, perhaps because of poor diet or medication, either herbal or chemical. Some medications that could affect the pregnancy hormone level are contraceptives and penny royal. Penny royal tea is great for headaches, but it also causes a drop in the hormone level, causing an abortion.

As for contraception, many women on hormonal contraceptives such as the pill, the shot, the patch, or the ring, have breakthrough ovulation. When breakthrough ovulation occurs, sperm can get through and fertilize the egg, thus creating a pregnancy. One of the functions of hormonal birth control is to make the lining of the uterus a hostile environment to a fertilized egg, thus causing a chemical abortion.

So you see, there are actually several reasons a woman's body might reject the growing baby.

The way I see it, if it's not a baby, you're not pregnant. Life begins at conception.

  2. It doesn't matter.  You can choose to give importance to it in your own mind, and, of course, that belief will be shared my many other people, but there are also many people who will disagree.

  3. It is living (it was never dead) and it is human (whatever that word refers to).

The question is simple, is it an individual with rights?

  4. Potential.

  5. It's a parasite until it is matured enough to live outside of the womb on its own.

Like tapeworms, which some people tolerate and have for years and years and others become ill and their bodies try to flush it out.

  6. life does  begin at the moment of conception

  7. a parasitic organism which poses a high risk to the mother's life.

  8. If it isn't a life then why is it that a man can be charged for murder for killing an unborn child if he assaults the mother?  It is a life but many hypocrites who have already been born say it isn't, if you've already been born you should not get to decide that someone else doesn't get to be born.

  9. The fetus has a different genetic makeup from the mother so it is an individual life. The DNA is human so it is human life.

Any other definition of human life is a religious definition and not a scientific definition.

The argument that there are miscarriages so abortion should be allowed does not hold water. People die at different ages. Because some people die at 30 years old does that mean it should be legal to kill all people who are 30 years old? That argument just makes no sense.

Comparing a human fetus to a tumor or parasite is a"sick" argument. The human fetus is natural to the mother as a result of s*x. The human fetus is where he belongs. In the womb of his mother. Unless a tragedy occurs the fetus will continue to grow into an adult.

  10. "life" does not equal "human."  Yes, it is alive.  So is bacteria.

People reject all sorts of things that are part of their bodies, whether they be ugly, harmful, or unwanted.

Cancerous tumors also have different DNA from the mother.  Do they get rights?
