  1. This doesn't make sense - some info is missing.

What do you mean you get gas every 50 miles?  How much gas?

If you sayng you get 50 miles per gallon (and bless you if you are) and you have to go 550 miles, that would be 11 gallons.  11 gallons @ $4.70 would be $51.70

  2. $51.70

  3. $517.00

  4. What kind of car only gets 50 miles per fill-up?!?!?!  How many gallons of gas does this vehicle hold?  You can't calculate the amount without knowing how many gallons is required at each fill-up.  I'm assuming you meant $4.70/gallon not $4.70/fill-up.

    550/50 = 11 fill-ups

    11 x  (# of gallons) = # of gallons of gas needed

$4.70 x (# of gallons of gas needed) = your answer

  5. What kind of gas mileage do you get?

  6. be honest.  This is a homework question isn't it?

What kind of car can only go 50 miles on a tank.

Not to mention you would need to know the size of the tank to answer this question.

  7. Not good with math or "munny", are you? Gas every 50 miles? Are you riding a moped or something?

Seriously, you need to tell us how many miles per gallon your vehicle gets.

  8. What type of vehicle are you driving, if you are driving a tank you would get like 1 gallon to the mile if you are driving a Prius about 55 MPG

  9. Impossible to answer with the information you have given.  And why would you need to stop every 50 miles for fuel?  Most cars will get at least 200 miles out of a full tank.

  10. From Redding? It's obvious that you listen to the CBC on NPR too much!

  11. There's not enough information to answer your question.  If you get gas every 50 miles you'll have to stop 11 times for gas on a 550 mile trip.  But the amount you put in each time depends on how much gas the car uses.  If you get 20 miles you'll need 2.5 gallons, 25 miles you'll need 2 gallons and so on.

If you need a whole tank every 50 miles you should probably have the hole in the gas tank fixed before the trip because that would be $620 for gas.  If there isn't something wrong with your car you should be able to stop much less, like every 200-300 miles (then gas would be less than $120).
