  1. First, we ARE apes.

Second, chimps (according to new info) continued evolving after we did.

Third, through most of their existence, most species don't continue evolving.

  2. Man did not evolve from Apes.

As primates, they just share the same ANCESTRY.

  3. Mutation and adaptation.  Apes didn't have to walk long distances across the plains to get to food sources as Homo species did.  The ones that stayed in the jungles cells didn't mutate.  In our DNA there is only a few codes that say we are human and they are apes.  Sometimes mutation is bad but in this case it was good.  There is still mutations going on in the homo species like Sickle Cell Disease.  People with it are resistant to malaria.

  4. They haven't. Next!

  5. All creatures evovle and continue to evolve.  I doubt if your interested in the truth, but the truth is that animals evolve very quickly until they become ideal for that particular niche and then evolutions slows down dramatically.  If the environment changes, the rate of evolution will increase or the animal may go extinct.  Humans did evolve from an extinct ape as did existing apes.  We are the last in a long line of upright hominids.

  6. Modern apes did not cease evolving. Since the human and non-human lines diverged, each group has evolved in its own way for the same amount of time.

In any case, once an isolated breeding population of a the broader species population (and in fact because of it) becomes sufficiently different, the two groups are no longer responding to the same environmental factors.

Dogs and cats shared a common ancestor just as humans and chimps did. Which of them to do think has ceased to evolve?

  7. Evolution does not stop. They, and we are still evolving. They might go extinct soon on us though.

  8. because we share a common ancestor, we did not directly evolve from apes.......

  9. Why do you ask a question that shows up your barking mad ignorance and then " thumbs down " people who tell you the truth?

  10. Do you really believe that man evolved from apes Stop leting people lye to you, Real the Bible and Qur'an and you will see where mankind Evolved...

  11. Apes are evolving as much and as slowly as human beings. It will take millions of years before a change becomes obvious. It is a continuous and continuing process. Nothing can stop it, And there is no end to it. Change is the rule of existence.

  12. Who says they have stopped.? it takes a long time to evolve. Not in your or my life time will we ever see anything evolve.

It takes millions of years and very slow change. Check back in a million years and see  what happened

By the way, have you seen the gorilla that talks in sign language... Is that not progress?

  13. Man and modern Apes share a common ancestor. That ancient common ancestor may or may not have been what we now categorize as an ape.

The modern apes have ALSO evolved from that ancient common ancestor in many ways. One most noticeable change has occurred in the splitting of recent non-human primates to bonobos and chimpanzees. and the split of gorillas before then.   There has been evidence that primates were around even before 65million yeas ago, and that they were most alike modern flying lemurs.

  14. Because we didn't evolve from apes. We are just another experiment by god i guess.

  15. Ugh. There are so many problems with this question; I'll just mention the most obvious two:

    1. Man did not evolve from modern-day apes; we share common ancestors with modern apes. In fact, chimps and human beings are more closely related to each other than either is to gorillas. (In other words, the ancestor to gorillas split from the common ancestor to all 3 species before the common ancestor to chimps and humans split from each other.)

    2. The only species that cease to evolve are the extinct ones. (And creationists, of course.)

  16. how would we know since it takes millions of years evolution to work?how do we know that we are not still evolving?
