  1. Why do people keep asking this...monkeys and apes are categories, not specific terms.

  2. If you believe in evolution, the theory is that a "branch" of apes developed and evolved into what is man today.  The branches of chimps stayed chimps, orangs stayed orangs, etc.

  3. I take it you have not decended yet?

  4. We did not evolve from apes and monkeys, we evolved with them. These three species came from one original species that branched off one at a time. We each evolved differently.

  5. i hope i do descend from monkeys and apes they are far better behaved, kinder and sweeter than most modern humans.

  6. Because, aliens put us here genetically engineered! So,evolution isn't so! I have a friend named Bob(like yours) that believes aliens come and visit us to check up on how we are regressing.

  7. The same reason there are different species of dogs, cats, fish, birds, amphibians, etc. Specialization of a species often leads to evolution of their characteristics, such as losing body hair once fire was invented, hair was no longer needed to keep the body warm, etc... Obviously the primitive species did not have the brain-size and intelligence to learn how to make, control, and use fire, thus, their species remains the same today as it was thousands of years ago.

Pretty simple, don't try to over-think it or you'll be in a mess of confusion.

  8. Study Bravozulu's answer if you want to understand the truth.

  9. Man evolved from bacteria too, as did fish, apes & all other higher order animals.  The apes that produced hominids may have died out & they may have evolved to produce other apes.  The Chimpanzee & Bonobo have evolved more since the split from the common ancester of hominids & what we now call apes than Homo Sapien has.  Some early Hominids were simply bipedal apes & Homo sapien is the only homonid/Homo offspring that survived to modern times.  Homo erectus & Homo neandertal died out some 20,000 to 30,000 yrs ago.

Notice that we still have fish... indicating that evolution does not destroy all the members of a species that evolves into another.

  10. Evolve does not mean "To Replace"...

If anything, it means "In Addition To"...

  11. Why would there NOT be?

  12. There are and have been, since the time of common ancestors, several species of monkeys and apes.  Only one species can evolve in any particular direction.  When one of the apes left the tree it evolved into a bipedal land dwelling animal that required significant selection to change the animal into an ideal form.  That selection pressure didn't exist for the species of monkeys and apes that lead lifestyles similar to what they had always done.  A monkey is ideally suited for its niche.  Any selection pressure will not likely produce something significantly different than an monkey.

  13. because the other monkeys saw how f*cked up it is to be human and decided not to evolve, they would rather swing from the trees in the jungle
