He doesn't have a black son, but he does have a dark skinned (Bengali) adopted daughter.

McCain has chosen to shield his daughter from the limelight, because of a racist smear campaign that was conducted against his family during the South Carolina primary.

He is absolutely not a racist himself, and in fact has said in interviews that there is a "special place in h**l" for people like that.
