  1. I probably won't vote for McCain or Obama, but to answer your question.

    1.  McCain shouldn't pick Lieberman.  McCain suppposedly appeals to the more liberal/independent part of the voting spectrum.  Picking up Lieberman is just overkill on this end.  He might pick up a few more independent votes, but he risks alienating a large block of Conservatives if he he goes down this road.  Romney makes a lot more sense for McCain.  He balances the ticket geographically, offsets the age factor, and has experience in economic matters.

    2.   For his talk of being an independent, McCain is similar to Bush in terms of policy.  He's basically agreed with Bush on the major issues (tax policy, Iraq/Afghanistan, and immigration reform).  Whether or not those are good positions are up for voters to decide.

    3.  For all of his talk about elimininating earmarks, even if he eliminates every single one, it won't be enough to balance the budget.  There need to be more fundamental cuts.  We simply cannot sustain this rate of spending.

  2. McCain has the answers to important questions and has the respect of the world. Obama has the adoration of our enemies for his weakness and whoever are the VP picks will not change the facts. Lieberman has bolted from the chains of the democratic party and McCain has shown he puts country above party so whoever he picks will be fine with me.

  3. why not, why is there an idea that he has to appeal to the right wing conservatives, does he really think that if he picks a more center candididate (which is where most americans are) that the conservatives are gonna vote for Obama.

  4. I'd have a tough time voting for him. I'm still pulling for Romney to be on the ticket, although the last interview I read with him told another story.

  5. no

  6. McCain and Leiberman would be a good match.  They both have consistently bucked against "party politics" and tried to work with both sides to get things done.  It just might stop some of this stupid gridlock especially if the dems get rid of Pelosi and Reid.

  7. Leiberman is about the only Liberal in congress that gets any respect from me. The reason for that, is though I disagree with him on many many things, he isnt above putting his politics aside for the good of the country. That sai, I really dont know who McCain should pick for his vp, if it is Leiberman he will still get my vote but I really hope he chooses someone more conservative.

  8. Of course, and so would 99% of Republicans, conservatives and the evangelicals who were planning to vote for McCain already.

All of that "Oh, No! He can't possibly do THAT!!!" stuff is coming from liberal media who are pro-Obama and have absolutely no idea of what drives GOP/conservative thought.

They don't listen to anybody but themselves.

The liberal media hang out at the same cocktail parties and tell each other what's important.

The media learns by listening not by talking to themselves.

After each election, they scratch their collective heads and try to figure out what happened.

We could easily explain it to them BEFORE the election but they never listen.

Joe Lieberman isn't going to be the VP nominee but not for the reasons that the liberal media say.

    What do they know?
