You have seen what Kyle has been able to do since he left Hendrick. Could Casey Mears do the same if he left???? I would like to hear feed back.. lets hear both sides of the table.

  1. No, he couldn't. Where would he go? back to a barely-kicking Chip Gannassi?

He will stay @ Hendrick and turn his season around during the CHASE. Look for him to win a race late in the season, or early next year. He will run good in the 5 car, just wait and see buddy' boy!

  2. Thats kind of a tricky question to answer because you have to remember that he drove for another team before moving to Hendrick so maybe if he hooked up with a team that could put him in the right equipment than ya probably.

  3. No. Kyle is purely a phenom. racing's in his genes. As an experienced motorsport participant, I can actually put myself on Kyles level. Kyle was going to do what he did, regardless of what anybody said, not even his owner. That's why he was departed from HMS It's like a nervous twitch, and it just makes you destroy the competition, at all costs (because that is what racing is all about!) Casey Mears, is more business and that's why he is with HMS. If I was Mears, I would feel pretty comfortable driving for the top team in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

  4. If they do (which they probaly will) Brad Kesolowski would probaly fill the hole.

  5. No Kyle was good in HMS equipment before he went to Gibbs, Casey has never been that good.

  6. I like Casey, but he is in the tier of talent as Jamie McMurray, Elliot Sadler, etc.  Kyle is defiantly in the Stewart, Gordon, Johnson, tier of talent.  Look at the moderate success of Jamie McMurray, after he left Ganassi for Roush.

  7. What would happen if Casey Mears goes to DEI and Martin Truex Jr Goes to Hendrick that Would Be Bitter Sweet

    Go Dale Jr #88

  8. i hope he does

that will give tony stewart a spot

  9. doubtful, i wish tony stewart would take mears' place at HMS

  10. Don't know what Mears problem is. He shouldn't be running with Kyle Petty and other back markers from 30 through 43. He's got the best equipment. I'd like to see Johnny Benson or even Sarah Fisher get a shot in #5.

  11. This is a very good question. I have never thought about it, but now that I have , I do not think he would be as dominating as Busch has been.  Even before Busch left HMS, he did have some wins under his belt. Mears has only one career win, and he has been driving for just around the same amount of time as Busch.

  12. i really dont think you would see much of a change       he is running some of the best equipment  around        and can barley make it to a top 20 finish

  13. Who's Casey Mears??

I think you would hear and see more of Derrick Cope or even Morgan Sheppard if they ran in the 5

  14. I can see that Casey's 4 different crew chiefs in as many years might be an issue as well as living up the the Hendrick expectaions. But I don't understand why he is doing so poor in equipment Kyle Busch was driving last year w/ a capable crew chief. Mears ran well w/ the old car at mile and a halfs but stinks w/ the new car. So I guess, no, he won't do better somewhere else. He needs to learn how to drive better in the new car.

  15. Casey was running right with Shrub, Jeff, and Jimmie near the end of last season, and was the only driver to get a top ten in the first four Chase races, if I remember right.

Casey isn't bonding with Alan Gustafson, Alan doesn't know how to set up a car for Casey, and it sounds like he's not trying to find out. It's making me wonder if it was Kyle Making Alan look good, because Kyle's owning the series without him.

If he did leave though, I'd like to seem him at Penske, how cool would that be?

  16. Casey's a good driver yet just nt having luck hes got a win and in the ast years have been very close to winning

  17. I think he is better off right where he is.  I think he will start kicking it up a notch soon.  He just needs a little more confidence and agression.  He can do it!

    Go Jr.>>>>

  18. Doubt it.  Kyle won races and ran up front when he was with Hendrick (in the same car and with the same team)...Casey had one win last year and other than that pretty much ran where he runs this year...near the back.
