If mom buys you something with a credit card and you go to return it with a receipt can you get money back?

so today i went to Delia's

bought a pair of jeans

i just realized its cheaper at pac sun

my mom used her card

if i go back to Delia's with the jeans and the receipt with out my mom

will i get money back for the jeans?

you can get store credit, but no cash

No, they will credit the refund to her credit card.  If you do return them you will need to get her to buy you the other jeans at pac sun.

A credit card? Nope. If the store has a return policy that will even allow you to return the jeans for a refund, your mom's credit card will simply be given the money back and the balance returned to what it was pre-jean purchase. The bookstore at my college had a problem with kids' parents purchasing books and the students thinking that they could return the books later for cash. I thought it was pretty funny when my friend told me about it.

If the tag is still on the jeans, the store will scan the receipt and the tag (to prove it came from there) and then you should be able to get refunded. I did that for an item my husband got at Wal-mart.
