I have a ps3 console coming and shed loads of ps2 games already. I was told it upscales them well. I have seen some screenshot comparisons for the ps3 and the ps2 version of the same game on the two different consoles and there doesn't seem to be a great deal of difference. but i am a novice! Is it worth buying ps3 games if the ps2 games are like £15 cheaper! its a lot of difference in price if you are not going to get your money worth. I bought it for the kids and me to tinker on. mainly the kids. what would you do?

  1. ps3 games have more options than ps2 versions

  2. if moneys tight yeah.  u cld sell sum of ur old games to  get cash 4 new ones

  3. kids don't need ps2 or ps3.send them outside.it won't rot thier brains and it won't make them fat and lazy.and it will save you money to send them to collage

  4. It all depends on what game you get.  Usually you can go to a game's website and see the features of the PS2 and PS3 versions.  If the feature(s) that are exclusive to the PS3 are not that important to you then just get the PS2 version.

  5. if you have a ps3 and a hdtv then u would clearly see the diff between the ps3 and the ps2 if i ever go play my ps2 because i cant play my ps3 since someone will be on that tv it looks like c**p the graphics in 480 look terrible after maybe 5 min i stop playing ps2 its that bad

  6. Well, the difference between the graphics in PS2 games and PS3 games are pretty significant. If you haven't seen PS3 games running on the PS3 in person, you really can't tell the difference, but once you do, you'll see that there's a very big difference.

But I guess if money is tight you could buy the PS2 version of a game, but I would recommend the PS3 version.

  7. If you're short of money (like me) - just buy one really good PS3 game instead of a couple of PS2 games. Sell or exchange some old games for a new ones. I buy used ones if I have the opportunity (and the disc is in the mint condition without any scratches). I suggest Ratchet and Clank - Future: Tools of destruction. It's a very nice game rated 7+ in Europe. Your kids will love it. It's like playing in Pixar movie. Controls are friendly, so that poor sick kid won't have any problems with it. :-)
