  1. It's not just a matter of need. "Conservation" means "wise use". There are some species which have passed the point of no return and we can only bid them a fond fairwell. [Well, if it were mosquitoes, maybe not so fond.] Others can be saved with fairly little effort and a group with limited resources can go after those populations. The tough problem species require a great deal of money and effort to save. Sometimes, they attract money. Pandas look cute, so the WWF adopted the giant panda as its logo. Others got lucky. Exxon-Mobil pours money into tiger conservation because they had adopted the tiger as a symbol of the strength they wanted their gasoline to be associated with. You take what money you can get and do the best you can with it.

  2. The one that would help the Earth to survive

  3. Basically the redlist is sorted by which species is most in danger of being wiped out.

  4. jus like Ds said there are many conservationist groups around. they sort out the particular species which is the most endangered in their region and conserve it. They have a lot of co-operation amongst themselves that the rest of the groups know what other animals of the locality could be conserved.

  5. Look at paleontology.  95% of all species that have inhabited this planet are extinct.

  6. It all have to do with the numbers of the specific animals which are in danger of being dropped in number.in the wild jungles

  7. There are alot of conservationists so I think it is possible to conserve each species equally

  8. Douchey - at least Sea Shepherd have to guts to do something about the Japanese whale killing.  Good luck to Sea Shepherd and shame on Greenpeace for being so lily livered.  Anyhoo, not all species are endangered.  The IUCN's Red List identifies all known plants and animals and describes their conservation status.  Conservationists don't tend to concentrate on just those in most danger but work for other species  before it becomes a serious problem too.  One conservation body for example, will have a wide number of projects on the go at any one time.  Some of it's work will be centred on those animals or birds, or whatever, threatened with extinction, while other projects will be for restoring habitats and working for less threatened species.  There's a huge amount of work to be done and a huge number of issues that need to be addressed.

  9. Food, water, shelter, and anything else that it needs to live, grow, and reproduce from its surroundings

  10. Usually, the ones that are the most critical by judging how

many are left, or dying in any specific species, in their eni-

    vironment.

  11. I hope any aspiring Green Peace activists here join the Sea Shepherd as cannon fodder =D I can just imagine them attempting to board a Japanese Whaling ship only to get harpooned off.. brilliant!
