Shouldn't someone tell them that if they bothered to get up during the day, there would be loads of light and they wouldn't have to all share one light bulb?

  1. haha good point :)

  2. Bill is on the right track but going the wrong way. Moths navigate by the moon and try to keep it on the same side as they fly. With a smaller light source, they have to keep changing their angle of flight to maintain the same angle to the light. The result is that they spiral in to the light.

  3. It's not that they love light, it screws up their navigation. Besides if they were out in the daytime they'd wear themselves out trying to fly to the sun.

  4. Cuz im in the light!

JK i dunno? Mabye cuz its pretty =0

  5. Trust me, I've told them hundreds of time they're just too stubborn.

  6. Oikos is partly right.  The other reason for nocturnal movement is to survive longer from the birds during the day and to feed the bats.
