  1. My suggestion is trying to get as much as information as you could before making any decision, here is a good resourece.http://carinsurance.expertsupport.info/a...

  2. No. Each driver needs to be listed on the policy. And insurance for a teenager is sky high. She will be fined for driving without insurance.

  3. That may be one of the specific situations that they call out in the policy - that the parents must notify the insurance company if there are any underage drivers, or else they will not be covered.

If your friend is covered for another car under the same company, though, and only drives the parents' car occasionally, it's probably ok.

They really need to check with the insurance company.  The most prudent assumption would be that she's not covered.

  4. CERTAINLY NOT...She is uninsured and exposing herself and family to serious financial risk, esp in USA

  5. No, unless the address appearing on her license is different than the one appearing on the insurance. In such a case where the two addresses are different, you can say the car was being borrowed and most insurance companies will buy it.

  6. Actually, her parents are supposed to inform their insurance company once a person in their household gets a driver's license. as long as the car is insured, however, no matter who drives it, the owner of the car should have insurance on the car.

  7. Sounds risky. Your friend should get the parents to check with the insurance comapny first. Otherwise the insurers may be able to refuse to pay out in case of accident which would cost a lot more than a fine!

The law on this varies from country to country and from state to state.

  8. No! Tell her parents to fix it immediately!
