Question:

If my I-9 form was incomplete will that delay my paycheck?

I worked for a company that is located in a different state but they were managing the event in my area. I filled out the part of the form that I was supposed to complete and brought in the necessary forms of ID and showed them to the on-site manager who was supposed to complete the bottom part of the form but apparently she somehow did not. A week and a half later they inform me of this and I said I could fax in copies of my IDs, however they stated that this would not be acceptable and that I would have to wait until I worked another event to get that portion of the form completed. At this time I'm not scheduled to work another event for them yet, I called them to see if the incomplete I-9 would keep me from getting paid however I have not received a call back. Will I still get paid next week like I'm supposed to? Or will I have to wait until the I-9 is complete before I get paid?

  1. You need to speak to the accounting department. They probably have to have physically seen your social security card because of the requirements of the US Patriot Act.

Do they not have another office in your State? What about the manager who didn't finish the form? Do you have a phone number for her?
