If my SAT score was not that great - should I try the ACT to get into an ivy league school?

I first took the ACT spur of the moment and got a 22 or something. I am thinking of getting some study materials for this test and some subject tests because the SAT really destroyed my prospects of going to Yale-even though my score incresed by 120 points-I still am in the 560's for each category. I don't know if I should divert my attention from the SAT to the ACT and my subject tests to try to get into and ivy league school. What should I do???

  1. Yeah that's what my brother did.

He got accepted to some ivy league colleges by just putting in his ACT score. SAT doesn't really matter.

  2. you can try, but statistics show that the ACT score is only slightly better than the SAT score.  So you should probably look at 3rd tier type of schools.  Meaning those schools that take lower than 1200 on the SATs.
