If my ac works only when i rev my car too 3000 revolutions could it be the ac compresor or the valve

i have a 1997 camaro and the only way for the a/c to cool is if i rev my engine too 3000 revolutions (around there) could it be the a/c compressor or the valve thats located where the too lines go out?

  1. Your Problem is eather low freion or loose belt. With the motor ideling, the a/c in max cool ,,,blower on high,,, doors open,,,running about 5 to 10 minutes,,, check the suction line going to the compressor. It should be cold and sweating,, all the way to the compressor.  If not your low.

  4. Sounds like you have a Vac Leak from under the dash or under your hood, preventing cool air to come into your passenger and driver's area.

    A very common problem when a vehicle gets old, from cracked or broken components being hoses, solenoids, switchs, doors, and or controls for the A/C system, also including valves.

    A tall sign of the problem is having to increase the RPM,s to create enough vaccum to certain components.

    Sometimes very hard to trace, or get to the components to correct trouble.
