If my battery is 13.8 volts and my amplifier gives 2000 watts rms at 14.4 volts how much watts am i getting?

if my battery is 13.8 volts and my amplifier gives 2000 watts rms at 14.4 volts how much watts am i getting?

also can i have some advise on upgrading my power supply in my car please (current a 70 amp alt)

  1. If the car is not running you will 13.8 Volts your watts will be around 1916.66666. Running the motor at 1500 RPMs you will have about 14.5 out put from the alternator. Otherwise your battery would not recharge. You would end up with a dead battery.


  2. to add to the last guy, to hear a volume change you need to increase your power by 33% (1db) so the difference is not detectable. if you double power you get a 3db gain, and "twice as loud" is a difference of 10db.
