If my bird gets lonely will she die?

I have had a parakeet for 6 years. But i have to go away for a week, and i have to leave her at a friends house. My friend has 2 love birds. My feriend says that she looks sad. Will she be ok?

Your parakeet will miss you, in the bird world birds pair with a mate for companionship but in captivity the bird will see you as its mate and miss you when you leave but if your keet is in company of other birds it will enjoy there company until your return.

for a week she'll be fine! i watch my friend's birds a lot and one is alone in a cage and its a parakeet... it always lives!!

i know that certain birds shouldn't always be alone though, but parakeets i think are fine!

well if your friend takes good care of her she'll be fine and if hard to tell if a bird looks sad because that look the same all the time. They can't frown because they have beaks. Your friend is probably exaggerating.

It's okay. if your bird is with an owner and 2 love birds she will be fine. but since you are gone, you should ask your friend to give a lot of attention to your bird.
