do I need an amplifier that also decodes the Dolby-True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio or can I use an ordinary amplifier?

  1.       You need an HDMI switching receiver to enjoy HD sounds. Around $400 you can buy Onkyo 606, Yamaha 663, Sony 820.


  2. You need a special amplifier.

  3. The BDP-1500 can decode TrueHD, but only bitstreams dts-MA.

    You need an HDMI 1.3 receiver hooked up to the BD-P1500 through HDMI.

    Depending on your budget, you can find one for under $400 by looking at the Onkyo TX-SR605 or a refurbished Onkyo TX-SR705.
