I work at a hotel in oklahoma that was sold to another company. We lost all of our benefits such as insurance and vacation. If the new company is offering us a position at the same pay rate do i still qualify for unemployment? Also the new boss of the company offered me a pay raise but i have nothing in paper work, i was wondering if i could work for the new company for a week or so to see how and if everything goes through and still be able to get my unemployment benefits from the 1st company it doesn't happen. if i was fired/ or quite for a good reason from the second after a week to a month (to give me time to see how things turn out) can i still get unemployment? I don't work for the 2nd company officially yet, everyone has to reapply and i have not done so yet.

  1. Nope, you don't qualify for unemployment, just because you lost benefits.

If you turn down the offer, or quit if you don't like how things are going, you're likely not going to be able to get benefits.  "Coming up with a good reason" doesn't usually work.

  2. sorry but you do not get unemployment cause you lost your insurance and vacation time.
