    To keep it simple the clock can keep restarting. Once your debt is sold to a collection agency the 7 years starts again.

  3. It depends on what the statue of limitations in your state are. Yes, they can still try to collect, but..if it's past the statue of limitations and they try to sue you and get a court date, the debt would be time barred and that's what you would tell the judge in hopes to get a dismissal.     The first thing you need to do is see when the last date of activity on the account was which you can do by pulling a credit report for all three credit unions.
