84. Sorry, most dogs get ready to kick the bucket around that time. My dog just got diagnosed with cancer on his 12th birthday. He has a huge lump on his shoulder, that cannot be removed. Doesnt bother him a bit though, he just looks funny after a haircut.

The old "1 dog year is 7 people years" thing isn't really accurate, because your dog's "people age" greatly depends on his breed/size/weight. For example, a Papillon might easily live to age 15, but Great Danes rarely live past age 9. So there is no working formula that you can use for every single dog out there. There just isn't. All of these people saying "84! 84!" are using that inaccurate and arbitrary "7 years" conversion that has been floating around forever.

i would say 12, but thats just a guess. if you take your dog to the vet, and they ask his age, you don't say well, he was born in 1996, so i guess that makes him 84 do you.
