He has a court date pending on 2 violation s of a protection order i have against our child and I. But at the same time, my lawyers are working with the court to set up a date to settle the child support and visitations (which i already know he cant see the baby due to violence and violation of the PO). His court date is the 28th, if the child support date is set for after that and he's already locked up (second violation was of the added NO CONTACT order so as we speak there is a warrant out for him), what will happen?

  1. Probably not,

the cops will bring him to court from the jail,  if it's nearby.

  2. If he has a court date and is in jail it'll definitely happen. If he's too far away from the courthouse to be transported there, they will put him on a closed circuit television line to the courtroom (this is what they do locally where the courthouses are up to two hours from the closest jail). In fact, him being in jail is about the only way you can guarantee that he'll appear for the court date especially if he has a history of missing them/evading warrants.

  3. Not necessarily. Especially if the jail he is in is close by. They may just drag his sorry butt in in his jumpsuit and sneakers.

  4. If he has a court date, the jail will transport him there on that date. This happens all the time. He will just be wearing a jump suit and shackles. But he will be there for any set court dates, the jail is aware of them.
