If my father having the france nationality can i claim too?

i am in pakistan and my father is in france having a nationality and i also want to claim for it so that i could easliy travel towards france.........?

France does recognize a limited jus sanguinis in relation to nationality.

Citizenship by filiation is not automatic and must be claimed when the individual has been born outside of France or its territories..

It is sufficient that at least one parent be of French nationality.

The maritial status of the parents is immaterial.

Filiation must be established during the minority of the child to take effect. Consequently, the recognition of a child after he reached his majority is without effect on his nationality (article 20-1 of the Civil code). That is, the legal recogniztion of the paternity of the French parent must have been effective before the child has reached adulthood.
