she was referred off post by her doctor to see a psychologist that he recommended and the psychologist thinks it would be best for her to get discharged.

The military likes to keep a lid on this kinda c**p,not sure why they would send a person to outside help ?unless she got a good lawyer and a bunch of paper work was done.i myself have only use the VA hospital,all they have done was send me to classess and give me a bunch of drugs to keep me mellow. they do have help for those in real need and a hot line to call someone for us personal and like me a veteran.never was i given an outside phone number !

The civilian doctor will send their findings to the military doctor and then the military doctor will decide if he agrees with the civilian's assessment.  There is no guarantee of anyting.  Her doc could tell her to suck it up and do her job and seek counseling on the side to deal with whatever is messing up her head.  Why can't anyone just do their job and finish the enlistment they signed up for.  Most people lied to get in the military and then do this kind of junk to get out.  Every job has stress and work requirements.  If your friend gets kicked out she is going to have a way worse life outside then she would if she would learn some coping skills and stay in.  She will get and RE-4 discharge that will basically keep her from any real jobs in the future.

No,a civilian Psychologist would not be considered a Military Psychologist.

the Service...

Time for her to "Grow Up" and take responsibility for herself...

She is in the Armed Forces of the United States...not Girl Scout Camp.

She quits this, she will never complete anything in her Life...Never.
