  1. No;knighthoods are not hereditary titles.Only peerage titles are herditary.A knighthood/damehood is earned by its recipient.

  2. No.A knight you haft  to train at a lords house and get premission by the monarch.

  3. I don't believe that the title of knight is hereditary. It's solely based on the merits of the individual, and as far as I know given only to males. There may be an inheritance which may have been given as a reward for the specific deed/s that resulted in knighthood. Perhaps you should consult with a genealogist if you haven't already.

  4. I believe you are referring to the "The Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav." It is a Norwegian order of chivalry that was instituted by King Oscar I of Norway and Sweden on August 21, 1847, as a distinctly Norwegian order. The Grand Master of the order is the reigning monarch of Norway. It is awarded to individuals as a reward for remarkable accomplishments on behalf of the father country and humanity. Since 1985, the order has only been conferred upon Norwegian citizens, though foreign heads of state and royals are awarded the order as a matter of courtesy, and it is non-heritable.
