No you cannot get any illness from your hamster unless it is carrying parasites which may bite you.  But again these will just be bites and will not harm

The chances of this are extremely slim, except for fleas and ringworm as Law L stated.

If you do notice any signs of illness in you hamster though, get it to the vet asap, as they can die quite quickly from serious illnesses. Its always best to check you hamster over for any signs of illness and watch for changes in its behaviour/appetite.

Simple answer- no.

You cannot catch anything from your hamster.

If it gets fleas, you may be bitten. If it gets ringworm- VERY rare- then you may be at risk.

But general illness, no.
