I took countless home pregnancy tests and they were all coming negative. I was 9 days late yesterday when I got bloodwork done and found out this morning I am in fact pregnant and that was the reading. She said anything over the level 4. something is pregnant. Just seems like I would be further along than that but she said something about it takes a while to travel down your tubes and implant.

  1. You're not very far.  It gets well above 1000 I think

  2. Well, When I was roughly 10 days late my hormone levels were 1500. 48 hours after your last blood work, you should request another one just to make sure your levels are doubling.  They should double every 48 hours.  Here's a rough estimate of how much your levels should be.

        *   3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml

        * 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml

        * 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

        * 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml

        * 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

        * 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml

        * 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

        * 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml

        * 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

        * Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml

        * Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

  3. My first blood test was actually a 2 so they told me it was negative. The Dr had me come back in 2 days to make sure and then it was a 27 and I was about 2 weeks. I was worried bc according to my last period I should have been about 4 weeks, and my levels should have been much more. But my OB said I just ovulated and got pregnant late in my cycle and wasn't as far along as we thought. So I would say you are VERY early. They will probly have you come back for another to make sure it is doubling the way it should.

    Here is a website with HCG levels..but I wouldn't put too much faith in the numbers. Every woman is different. Best of luck!!

  4. I assume you are talking about HcG?

    What happens is:

    An egg is released from one of your ovaries (ovulation). It stays in the fallopian tube until it is penetrated by a sperm (fertilization). Together they start growing as they travel down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. At this point they produce small amounts of HcG, which can be found in a blood test but not in a urine test (such as a home pregnancy test).

    They reach the uterus between 6-12 days after fertilization (9 on average). Right after they reach the uterus, they start implanting into the uterine wall. At this point the placenta starts developing as well. THE PLACENTA IS WHAT PRODUCES SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF HCG.

    This means that by the time you miss a period your HcG level should be at least 100, and doubling every 48-72 hours.

    This is what I suspect might be going on with you: In some cases, the egg and sperm meet and fertilization takes place, but they never successfully make it to the uterus, never implant, and a placenta never develops. In this case low levels of HcG can be detected in your blood for at least a few weeks.

  5. Implantation can take up to 2 weeks.  8.9 makes you pretty early.  I know at 6 weeks I was already up to over 300.  This may help you understand a little better about HCG levels

  6. I think implantation can take up to 1-3 weeks, but I don't really understand all that pregnancy stuff.
