Yes you can. It would be a matter of making the loan current, including any penalties, collections fees, that are due.

Yes, but if foreclosure is approaching I would think that you must be behind on the mortgage payments for quite a while. If it's a lot maybe you should consider filing for Bankruptcy. If you qualify, they get all you past due payments,take a portion of it and create a re-payment plan for you (according with your income). By them I mean the Bankruptcy Court. The plan could be as long as 3 to 5 years, no interests.However, you must show the Court that you are able to make your regular ongoing mortgage payment plus the monthly parcel of your plan. Sounds a lot but maybe its worth to save your property and you can try and refinance it later.
