If my husband dies and his father dies can I get my husbands fathers estate if I am not on it?

I want to know if I can get my husbands part of his fathers will if my husannd dies and I am not on it

  1. It would depend on how the will is written.  Mine is written that if my son should die with or before me his inheritance goes to his estate.


  2. Answer is NO.

  3. Only if you are specifically named.  No....better hope dad goes first and your husband inherits it, then you will be next of kin.

  4. Slim outside chance. If your Husband and your father in law were both killed at the same time, say a car wreck, maybe so otherwise very little chance. If your husband dies before his Dad does, your out of luck, unless the Dad puts you on his will.

  5. Only if your husband dies after his father, OR if your father in law specifically mentions you by name in his will.  If your father-in-law dies first and leaves your husband a sum of money and property, then the money and property now become your husband's possessions. If then your husband dies, unless your husband has a will that states differently, you would be the next of kin to your husband and  you would inherit what your husband had at the time of his death. However, if your husband dies first, before his father,  then you would get nothing from your father in law unless your father in law specifically mentions you in his will.
