  1. Learn the Portuguese language, practices, laws and traditions as added requirements being a spouse of a Portuguese to apply for citizenship in Portugal.

  2. it depends on the laws of the country.  you may have to apply to be a citizen.  that in it self can take up lots of time.  check with the immigrations office in your area.  they can tell you what is required for you to get a Portuguese passport.

  3. I don't think you can unless you have been married to him a long time, lived in Portugal and speak Portuguese.

I have this same thing with France.  I wanted a French passport and this is what they told me, even though we have been married for 10 years we did not live together in France very long.

  4. Are you going to Portugal? Then yes, you'll have to. However I don't if they will give you one just because your husband has one.

  5. Portuguese citizenship is acquired mainly through descent from a Portuguese parent, naturalization in Portugal or marriage to a Portuguese citizen.  So yes, if your husband is Portuguese, then you should be able to acquire citizenship unless you are disqualified in some manner.

The marital requirement is a minimum of three years of legitimate marriage before you may make your declaration to acquire citizenship. No formal residence period in Portugal required.  However in practice, knowledge of the Portuguese language and ability to integrate into Portuguese society may be required.  Dual citizenship is allowed.
