If my husband is in the military do we have to have passports to travel in Europe?

He is going to be stationed in Germany and I would like to visit some of the surrounding countries including Poland, Italy, Russia, France, etc

  1. Yes.

    Germany did and probably still does allow entry by US military personnel with a CAC and traveling on orders, but no passport. That probably doesn't apply to dependents, and you need a passport to visit most of the other countries anyway, even if traveling driectly from Germany.

  2. When my family was sent to Japan we were all required to get passports in order to travel, so yes you will still need to have a passport.
