If my husband is on probation but gets clearance to go a cruise can he get a passport?

  1. From the State Department website, one reason for denial of passport is "a condition of parole or probation forbidding departure from the United States (or the jurisdiction of the court)."

    The permission to leave he received may depend on where he's going; if it's to a US territory (i.e. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, etc.) he's not technically leaving the country.  

    Talk to his PO for clarification.


  2. The one thing I do know is that on your form that you fill out, there is nothing on the form about whether or not you have a felony against you. I doubt that they have the resources to check this, but I just don't know. I also have asked this question before, but it was for a passport renewal and never got a direct answer. So I still don't know. We're just going to apply and hope for the best.
