  1. silly little troll.

  2. My experience with the public system for 3 years, before homeschooling is that teachers are 100% protected from any of their choices, behaviours or words.  So I guess the answer is no you can't fire the teacher.

  3. Sure fire yourself!

  4. Since the teacher is ...usually.... the parent in the homeschool, you can answer that. However, since the parent is ALWAYS the "Principal" of the school, you have control over who you "hire" (like in a virtual school, or online program), but might be bound by contracts.

If you "hired" a company to homeschool your child, then you will want to check your contract (or agreement) if you have one. You may be required to finish paying for a school like Penn Foster regardless of your child's grades. You will want to contact them and ask their advice on what to do. I can't see any virtual homeschool that wouldn't be willing to help you.

Your child may have a learning disability that needs diagnosing and help with. You have a legal right to your public school's special ed dept, call them and ask them for advice. You can also ask your "hired" teacher.

However, if your child is really trying, and still flunking, you need to speak to whoever is supplying the materials. Obviously, something is wrong, BUT it is your responsibility to figure it out and find a solution. There are so many helpful resources to use to homeschool your child, you will surely find more help than you'll ever need!
