I'm a US citizen. If my kid was born in Canada, is he/she a US citizen as well?

  1. Yes, you just register them at the nearest US consulate in Canada.

  2. For kids born after Nov. 14, 1986, with one US citizen parent:

If the citizen, you, lived in the US for at least 5 years before the kid's birth and 2 out of the 5 years were after your 14th birthday, then yes.  Birth should be registered at US embassy.
