My mom is currently a judge here in the Philippines, and she wants to get her masters degree in Harvard or Yale, I'm not sure which, I think Harvard but all she wants is a well known Ivy league college. But she's going to look up some colleges in July, since she can't leave the country till next year. She said that if she goes to school there then we'll have benefits, what are these benefits? I'm not a US citizen by the way and neither is my brother. She said after she gets her masters degree, she'll probably get a position in the UN or something, I don't know what that means. Anyway, all I want is to be an American Citizen, cause here in a 3rd world country... All my dreams seem to be dead. I really want to study for college in America, I really do. But what are the benefits for me and my brother?

  1. I am sorry to say there are no benefits for you and your brother because you are not the ones coming to the US for school, but your mom is, and even at that her benefits are at a minimum do to the fact that she will be in school and not working here.  It doesn't mean your mom is not in titled to the same rights as a US citizen because she is, but for you to benefit you have to be here to benefit from the American dream.  She will have a student visa allowing her to attend a school of her choosing, but that doesn't mean that you will be allowed into the country, she will have to get you and your bother visas to come to the US and I am not to clear on that part though....

If your mom is talking about the benefits of her hard work after she gets masters and is able to get in to the UN then yes there will be some perks for you and your brother, like traveling from your country to the country that your mom will be working as well as the perks that come with her job and title.  By the way the U.N. mean the United Nations council.

I hope your mom finds what she is looking for and for you to get your American dream, I live here and I am still looking for my American dream....

Good luck and take care.....Keep the Faith....PEACE....cya....
