Ariadne, as previously mentioned, was King Minos' daughter.  She fell in love with Theseus when he came to defeat the Minotaur in the Labyrinth.  Theseus was related to Poseidon, the King of the Sea--Poseidon was his grandfather.  If it wasn't for Ariadne, Theseus would've never escaped the Labyrinth where the Minotaur lived; Ariadne gave him a ball of string to leave as a trail.

However, Ariadne and Theseus never really got married, seeing as that he DESERTED her on the island Naxos.  She was then found by Dionysus, God of Wine, who married her, gave her a crown, etc.  Dionysus was the son of Zeus and Semele, a princess of Thebes.  The crown he gave her was put in the sky as the constellation Corona at her death... I think the Northern Crown.
