If my opponent uses MST to destroy my set Shrink can I still use it to halve my opponent's monster?

ok that sounds right, but what if my opponent destroys my brain control can i gain control over the opponen'ts monster?

yes thats a chain so you are alowed to do it. since mst just destroys the card but dosent negate its effect

Yes you can. MST doesn't say to negate the effect of the card it destroys.
