14 days BEFORE the start of your period.  NOT 14 days AFTER.

for example, you have a 32-day cycle every month.  you most likely ovulate on day 18, not 14.  you have a 28-day cycle:  day 14.  you have a 25-day cycle:  day 11.  you probably ovulate on a different but similar day each cycle.

14 days. Sperm live up to 3 days in the womb. If you are trying to get pregnant DON'T (meaning don't try) most women stress about it and causes actually more problems. If you are trying to use the rhythm method my rule was no s*x about 5 days before the 14th day after the first day of my cycle, meaning by day 9 no s*x until the 15th day. As far as I know, half way through your cycle is the best time to get pregnant, so 14 days from today.  This is when you ovulate.  If you are trying to get pregnant I would be trying may 3-4 days either side of day 14...so from about day 10 - day 18.
