  1. General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is a data service for connecting your phone to the internet.  It doesn't work the same as the General Positioning Service (GPS), used in cars, or personal devices.  So if you lose your phone, GPRS can't help you find your phone.

  2. many phones do have gps devices built into them.. but most do not provide a "find me" type of feature, the only one that i am aware of is boost mobile, with the mobile internet, you can activate a feature that will allow who you choose to find where you are...

your phone would need to have this feature, and it would need to have been activated

your phone must be powered on

your phone must have your sim card in it (for gsm phones) if someone changed the sim card this method is no good.. .

your carrier will not go thru the time, effort, or expense to track your lost phone for you.

hopefully you have insurance on the phone, cause you are going to have to get a new one...

ps... this belongs in cell phones, not landlines, as landlines do not have gprs or gsm.
