  1. No, it doesn't make any difference.  The Veterinarian would not have given the shots to a sick puppy without treating it for an illness. The puppy may not feeling perky, since being inoculated.  Many times they do run a low grade temperature.  Call your Veterinarian, he'll probably tell you what amount of analgesic to give by mouth to your puppy for discomfort.  This should perk puppy dog right up in a couple of hours.  He'll be just fine.

Many times puppies are born with worms, too.  Being wormed at time of inoculation gives them the tummy ache for a day or two.  This is to be expected.

Give that puppy a big hug for me.  Make sure you give it a "Heart Worm Pill" every month.  That's so important for a healthy pet.

God bless you and puppy, too<><:)

  2. there is no shot to make your puppy calm down. do you mean distemper? that is a virus. and being late won't hurt him.

  3. I don't know which shot you're refering to but I'm going to guess distemper.

Vaccinating late isn't going to make a difference to his immunity, so long as he's vaccinated before contacting the disease. The reason there are several puppy shots is because it's too expensive to measure when the maternal immunity of the puppy (from colostum) starts to go away. If you vaccinate too early than the maternal immunity will 'protect' the puppy from the vaccine, and the pup wont generate an immunity of its own. Maternal antibodies drop sometime between 6 and 14 weeks for most dogs, but we dont measure it, so we vaccinate across that critical period.

  4. I have had many dogs and I've never heard of a shot that a puppy gets to calm him  down, sorry.

  5. it shouldn't he's still getting the shot right...and i have to go with luvsdard ive never heard of it either i thought you were talking about the puppy shots...
