I have a pair of Fritschi Randonee bindings and a brand new pair of 08 Armada Jp vs Julien skis. I havent mounted the bindings yet, but from my viewpoint the ski brakes look to small and dont go over the edge of the ski.

  1. Nice bindings. If I were you, I'd mount the bindings and see if the brakes work. If they don't, take some pliers and fix em. Fritschi may also offer wider brakes, you should email them.

  2. put them on and bend em out. its better than buying new bindings and having a set to do nothing with. onlt bend them if its not a big deal. if they have a lot to go, then considering new bingings might be better. weigh your options. i bent mine out, but they only needed to go like a quarter inch

  3. Get new brakes for my sakes. If I'm down slope of you when the ski comes off and the brake doesn't work away it goes and hits me.  I hope you have lots of insurance.

  4. If you don't need to bend them too far, bend 'em.  Know that the more you have to bend them the weaker the metal may become.

You can buy new brakes only for about $75. REI has them online.

  5. You need wider brakes. If you can get the brakes and know what you're doing, it's about a 10 minute job to change them both. Any good shop can replace them for you. You can use pliers, but it's not advised. The more you have to bend, the less effective they are.
